Treadmill Doctor and FitnessRepairParts.com spent nearly 30 years helping customers repair and maintain fitness equipment rather than replace it. On October 1, 2025, the companies officially combined operations.
1995: John Jacobs founded Fitness Plus Equipment Services, Inc. in the St. Louis market after working in quality control for a major manufacturer. The company quickly became the area's leading fitness-equipment service provider.
1998: Treadmill Doctor launched in Memphis with a similar mission: keeping fitness equipment running through quality repair services and replacement parts.
Early 2000s: Both companies expanded nationwide. Treadmill Doctor developed TreadmillDoctor.com into a leading resource for parts, troubleshooting, and repair assistance. FitnessRepairParts.com launched to make buying fitness-equipment parts online easier.
2010–2011: Fitness Plus earned national recognition, ranking No. 363 on the 2010 Inc. 500 as Missouri's fastest-growing company and No. 613 on the 2011 Inc. 5000.
2020–2024: Treadmill Doctor expanded its e-commerce, manufacturing, technical support, and commercial operations, building a nationwide network of dealers, installers, and service companies.
2025: Treadmill Doctor combined with Fitness Plus and FitnessRepairParts.com, bringing their operations together under TreadmillDoctor.com, Inc. and FitnessRepairParts.com.
The merger combines Treadmill Doctor's manufacturing, sourcing, marketing, technical expertise, and consumer presence with FitnessRepairParts.com's extensive parts catalog, inventory systems, warehousing, and commercial industry relationships. Together, they form one of the country's largest independent fitness-equipment repair parts operations.
